Little Dolly Dresses

I've had these little 6 inch dollies since I was a little girl and they fit really well in my castle doll house. Well I finally stared sewing pretty little princess like dresses for them so that they feel comfortable in their castle home. I have about six of them and two Mermaids so I have a few more dresses to make.

Here is what they looked like before I worked on their hair and these are the kinds of clothes they came with. The thing I love about these dolls, you can never loose their shoes or socks, some come in tights and they always wear underwear (it's painted on) that's my favorite part!

My first Jelly Roll

I bought my first Jelly Roll of Moda Neptune fabric last summer with a cute pattern to make a quilt with dreams of finishing it before Christmas. Well when school started in the fall and all my sewing was placed on a shelf reality sunk in and I knew I'd never get it done before then. I cracked open my Jelly Roll last week and almost finished the quilt top yesterday for MLK day. All that's left to do is squaring up the sides and then of course quilting and binding. Confession here, I have no idea how to machine quilt and I'm more than a little intimidated about attempting it. And that's why I haven't completed a single quilt yet, but I'm hoping to soon!

I had a lot of fun making this quilt top and it was SO very easy, and that of course helped make it fun!

Christmas Treats

From top left clockwise: Ande's mint surprise coolies, peppermint bark gram cookies, more Ande's mint cookies and then candy cane sugar cookies surounded by lots of mints and chocolate kiss truffles.

I have to say that giving homemade goodies at christmas is now my favorite thing! It is a lot of work but it's so satisfying!

Christmas Crafts

I've got lots of crafts to post, I've been way behind. Lets start at the stockings shall we. I worked hard on these up until Christmas Eve. Before going to bed my 6 year-old told me I wouldn't finish sewing til dawn (where do they come up with these things?) Thankfully they were done and filled by midnight. (that's when I took the pictures)

This is the tutu I made for my little 3 year-old. Unfortunately she was there when I shopped for the tulle and instinctively knew it was for her. On top of that she sunk out of bed one night when I was working on it and put it on, when I wasn't looking! On Christmas morning it was hiding in a closet with a string atached that ran around the roon and hooked to the tree. I also made the flowers clips on the skirt and hair. She loves it! (Loving the big black trashbag in the background, it's Christmas day where do you put your wrapping paper?)

...more to come
